We’re an open, inclusive musical improv community that hosts monthly “Toast & Jams” and welcomes performers of all levels. Come play, sing, support, or just enjoy the laughter. We also have a performance group called the Emotional Overtones.

Watch their team of writers scramble to create a never-before-seen musical, completely on the spot, based on your suggestions! From plot twists, to romances, to surprise sponsors, these shows have it all! Watch as they take your suggestions and turn them into comedic scenes and show-stopping songs! *South Bay Debut!

Two men, one dream, no horse, two mouths, one kiss, too many sweater vests, one dream, two kisses? Horse Mouth is an improv duo from Santa Cruz composed of two hot boys who make up for their lack of horse knowledge with their love of fabricating horse facts. This power duo from Santa Cruz tells amazing stories and weaves incredible scenarios and relasionships before your eyes. We have tried to get them and we are so excited to present them to South Bay Audiences at Mimosas for the first time! *South Bay Debut!
Emotional Overtones-known for their orange leis, the performance arm of South Bay Improv, do a fun format where they take a location and a suggested concept and weave it into overlapping stories and songs. There will indeed be drama-and yes-a whole lot of singing and dancing.

What is South Bay Musical Improv? Who are these people?
We host monthly jams, support performers of all experience levels, and believe musical improv should be joyful, inclusive, and accessible to anyone who wants to sing, play, or just watch.
No experience required. Curiosity Encouraged! Come check out a "Toast & Jam" every 3rd Tuesday from 7:30–9:30 PM at Mimosas of Willow Glen.
Come sing, support, or just watch and enjoy brunch-for-dinner vibes and spontaneous musicals.

What is a toast and Jam?
A "toast and jam" is an interactive event that serves as a casual improv workshop and performance all in one. It is similar to an open mic or an improv "jam," where anyone, regardless of experience level is welcome to get on stage and improvise scenes and songs with the performers.
Participation is optional: You can choose to join the performers on stage or simply watch and laugh from the audience.
Supportive environment: The sessions are designed to be fun and supportive, a welcoming opportunity for all levels to experience the joy of musical improvisation.
Anyone can join: — performers and audience members alike. They are wildly fun, hilarious and full of joy!
Essentially, it's a chance to "toast" the venue/group and "jam" (improvise) with others in a low-pressure setting.
A fun little mini-view into a "toast and jam"
The Emotional Overtones is the performance group within the South Bay Musical Improv community.
Known for bringing the party with us (and our orange flower leis), we perform fully improvised musicals across the Bay Area. We will come perform elsewhere and we invite other groups to come perform with us!
🏆 Proud to have been voted the audience favorite improv group three months in a row. We won a competition and then decided to strike out on our own as well.
